Why am I being referred to a specialist?
Your family veterinarian has referred you to a specialist to allow the best care possible for your pet when the most difficult and demanding procedures are needed. We value and respect your veterinarian's skills and are dedicated to building a close relationship with them to become an integral part of your pet's healthcare team.
The Referral Process:
Referrals are initiated by your family veterinarian who will send a referral form, pertinent records, lab work and / or x-rays in advance. If your appointment is scheduled less than 3 days in advance, it may be best to bring xrays with you to your appointment. Your regular veterinarian will be updated promptly regarding the examination and treatment of your pet. Communication between Dr. Fry and your family veterinarian is of utmost importance for the best care of your animal companion.
Scheduling Your Appointment:
Patients are seen by appointment only.
Appointments are scheduled from 8am- 10:30am Tuesday through Friday.
Our staff is available by phone 8am- 5pm Tuesday through Friday.
Appointments may be reserved by the referring veterinarian or by the client.
You may choose to schedule your initial consultation and surgery dates separately, or you may schedule your consultation so that Dr. Fry will be available to perform surgery the afternoon of your initial appointment.
What to expect with your pet's overnight stay:
When leaving your pet for surgery be sure to not feed any food past midnight the night before, give water only. If your pet is currently on medications, please be sure that you have received instructions on withholding medications the night before surgery. If your pet is on medication that you would like continued during hospitalization it is best to bring it with you at the time of drop off.
Our hospital provides comfortable beds and blankets for your pet's hospital stay, but you are welcome to bring a special blanket or toy from home if you prefer. If your pet has any food allergies, please bring your own food to continue through hospitalization. Let us know when scheduling your appointment if your pet has specific fears or aggression and we will do our best to accommodate your family's needs.
